Westville Girls’ High School celebrate Thabile Ncama and Ziyanda Ndlovu who did a school shoe collection for Ukukhanya Kwelanga Public School in Chesterville. The learners completed their work experience at the school with the aim of learning more about the world of teaching. During their time at the school, the girls were touched by the various challenges the school and the learners faced. They then took it upon themselves to focus on assisting the learners with school shoes. The girl secured 500 school shoes from My SPAR and the support of various individuals and WGHS Alumni.

” We decided to come up with an initiative where we try to solve the shoe issue at the school . Where wanted to donate new pairs of school shoes to the learners who do not have any. The main aim was to ensure that every learner has school shoes that are safe and appropriate. We wanted to make lunch breaks more fun and safe for every child, seeing them wearing flops was very heartbreaking as we knew that it was quite risky.” said the girls. We are very proud of Thabile and Ziyanda for their wonderful achievement. We thank all donors who made their dream possible. Well done ladies.
