Cannons Creek host annual Fun Run to drive donations for Benjamin Projects SA

Cannons Creek Independent School held its annual Fun Run event on 1 March, catering for its in-house school families and any community members wishing to participate. The event offered 2km / 4km / 8km events to cater for the serious runners, the joggers, the plodders and even those who simply wanted to enjoy a chance to socialise. The school acknowledges and thanks Sportsmans Warehouse for supplying branding, and Tyson Properties for sponsoring the waterpoint. The staff/ parents are also acknowledged for volunteering to be marshalls en route, and for the donation of prizes. The school also collectied secondand sports shoes and clothing, partnering with Benjamin Projects. This iniatitive is an NPO aiming to make a sustainable and consistent impact in the lives of young people from impoverished communities by engaging with them and their families at an earlier stage of their school lives.

Some comments:

  • 1st IP boy – Jesse Hughes
  • 1st IP girl – Casey Laver

4km race

  • 1st FP boy – Ron Clarke
  • 1st IP boy – Adam White
  • 1st IP girl – Genevieve Lang
  • 1st GET boy – Liam Ingram
  • 1st GET girl – Rebecca White
  • 1st FET boy – Luke Bryant
  • 1st FET girl – Chelsea Allen
  • 1st Adult male – Ayrton du Plooy
  • 1st Adult female – Miranda Lang

8km race

  • 1st GET boy – Daniel Wise
  • 1st FET boy – Hlumelo Mbadlisa
  • 1st Adult male – Calvin Hammond
  • 1st Adult female – Anna-Lize Mostert
