Volksrust High School emerged from the intense competition of the Mpumalanga Netball Championships held in Witbank on 7-8 June 2024 with commendable performances across multiple age groups. With three teams representing the school, U14, U16 and 1st team, the tournament proved to be a test of skill, endurance and sportsmanship. Despite the challenges posed by formidable opponents, Volksrust High School’s netball teams demonstrated unwavering determination and a commitment to excellence throughout the gruelling weekend of matches. The results reflected the dedication and perseverance of the players, as well as the guidance and support provided by the coaching staff.

The under-14 team showcased their talent, securing a respectable 14th-place finish in Mpumalanga. Their performance, marked by moments of teamwork and individual brilliance, highlighted the potential within the younger ranks of Volksrust High School’s netball program. Meanwhile, the under-16 team displayed their competitive spirit and skill, achieving a commendable 10th place in the Mpumalanga standings. In the senior division, Volksrust High School’s first team faced tough competition from the prestigious Botho schools, ultimately finishing 11th out of 13. The first team’s performance showcased their resilience and determination to compete at the highest level, setting a strong foundation for future endeavours.
