SACS talent makes a splash at Australian Championships

SACS was proudly represented on the international water polo stage, with five of our boys selected to represent South Africa at the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships held this past week in Brisbane.

Ben Bigara (Grade 12) and Luca Orgill (Grade 11) were named in the South African U.18A team, while Luka Charalambous, Zazi Mkandawire and Joshua Damstra (all Grade 10) represented the U.16A side, competing in the U.18B division.

Further strengthening the SACS connection, Old Boys Nick Tinkler (Class of 2011) and Cameron Laurenson (Class of 2016) were appointed Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach of the U16 boys’ team.

In a phenomenal achievement, both the South African U.18A team – who finished the tournament unbeaten – and the U.16A team claimed gold medals! We are incredibly proud of our SACS boys and Old Boys for their outstanding performances on the international stage.
