Rondebosch Boys’ High School Term one achievers: Interhouse Athletics 2023.
Water polo:
The RBHS U14A team took part in the Pitcairn Cup at Reddam over the weekend in a competition involving 10 schools from the Eastern and Western Cape. Some marvelous water polo was played with the team scoring many goals throughout the tournament. The group stages saw the team play Reddam B (21-0), Paul Roos (12-2), SACS (5-3) and Paarl Boys (12-0) before a quarter final encounter with Grey PE (18-1). The semifinal was a competitive affair with the team overcoming Wynberg (7-2) before a classic clash with Bishops in the final. The first three chukkas were tight with the RBHS boys pulling away in the last chukka to score a great victory and tournament win (13-8). Well done to coach, Daniel Ferraz, manager, Penny Ashwell and the whole u.14A team on their fi rst gold medal at high school, a fine achievement.

Golf: Rondebosch Boys’ High School is exceptionally proud of Jack Buchanan who has been selected by RSA Golf to represent South Africa in the ‘All Africa Junior Team Championship’ to be held in Uganda in April. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, Jack.

SA Rowing Championships
This last weekend the Rondebosch Boys’ Rowing Club competed at the annual South African Schools Rowing Championships where they competed against rowing schools from all over the country as well as from Zimbabwe. We are immensely proud of the boys’ efforts and results, as well as how they conducted themselves on tour which really made the boys stand out. The team made multiple finals, which included the boys u19 1st scull, 1st pair and 1st four at the event placing them in the top 8 crews in the country for their respective events which is really something to be proud of.
Congratulations to the boys u19 1st quad made up of: Ryan Dellbridge, Thomas van Der Schijff, Joshua Keys, Calvin Nesbitt and Nicholas Poulter for a well earned silver medal in the event. Congratulations also go to the boys u16 A quad made up of: Kai Duckitt, Joseph Krige, Ethan Du Toit, Luca Scott and Ethan Galp who also won silver in their event. Well done to all the boys and coaches for their amazing efforts and results. We couldn’t be prouder!
