Mitchell House is celebrating an exceptional set of Matric results, with the Class of 2025 delivering one of the school’s strongest performances to date. The cohort achieved a 100% pass rate, with an impressive 88% of candidates earning Bachelor’s Degree passes, reflecting consistent commitment and academic excellence throughout the year.

Top honours went to Taskeen Tayob, who achieved an outstanding eight distinctions. She was closely followed by Thandolwethu Khumalo and Mabetji Mankga, each earning seven distinctions, while Matshela Vyamungu added to the school’s success with six distinctions.

This excellence extended beyond distinctions, with Taskeen placing in the top 1% nationally in Accounting and Mathematics, and Mabetji achieving a top 1% national ranking in Sepedi. Both learners also ranked within the top 5% nationally in six or more subjects and achieved a rating level of 7 in Life Orientation, highlighting the depth and consistency of their performance.

Subject results were equally remarkable, with several disciplines outperforming national benchmarks. Accounting, Sepedi and Business Studies all achieved averages more than 7% above the IEB national average. Sepedi led with an average of 84% and nine distinctions, while Accounting achieved 76% with six distinctions, Business Studies 74% with eight distinctions, Mathematical Literacy 76% with three distinctions from eight candidates, and Dramatic Arts an average of 72%. The overall cohort average stood at a strong 67%, with almost 50% of all symbols above 70% and 75% of marks above 60%.

These results reflect not only exceptional individual achievements, but also the strength of a whole-school approach to academic development built over many years. The Class of 2025 demonstrated resilience, leadership and steady academic growth, rising to the challenges of a demanding Matric year while upholding standards across academics, culture and sport.

Mitchell House proudly celebrates this remarkable achievement and congratulates the Class of 2025 on a year that will be remembered for excellence, perseverance and success.
