AWSUM talked with Palesa Wiso the Tom Naudé THS U19A netball captain about the Bosveld Intervarsity vs Hoërskool Pietersburg.

What is the highlight of your team’s netball season this year?  The highlight of my netball team’s season this year was the AFFIES Tour. We pushed and played hard, even on days when we were tired and our bodies felt numb. That demonstrated the perseverance of our team to work hard and play until the end.

How do you motivate your team? I motivate my team by speaking to them both on and off the court, lifting their spirits and helping them stay focused in the game, while also keeping them calm.

Who is your vice-captain and how does she support you? My vice-captain, Lethabo Legodi, helps me lift the spirits of our attackers. She has a famous phrase: ‘BMT,’ which stands for ‘Big Match Temperament.’ This really helps give us an extra push in the dying minutes of the game.

What do you as a team want to achieve this year? What will make you proud?

One of the biggest achievements for our team is reaching the Limpopo Champ Finals and taking the first position.  Achieving that again will make me extremely proud of our team.Bosveld Intervarsity,
