Fairmont High School are so excited to celebrate Ava Newton (Grade 9) and her outstanding achievements at this year’s 43rd Freda Barnard Invitational Swim Meet held in Oudtshoorn! Ava showcased her incredible talent by earning a remarkable 263 individual FINA points and medaled in every event she competed in. Over the course of four days, she participated in 14 races and brought home an impressive haul of 14 medals:

• 9 Gold
• 3 Silver
• 2 Bronze

Notably, Ava also set a new record for the 200m backstroke for 14-year-old girls! In recognition of her exceptional performance, she was awarded the prestigious Senior Victrix Ludorum trophy. Congratulations, Ava! We are so proud of you!
