St Benedict School’s up and-coming-young swimmer excel

Ethan van Noordwyk is an up-and-coming young swimmer in Grade 6 at St Benedict School in Pinetown. He recently participated at the KZN Junior Championships where he won a silver medal in the Mixed 4 x 50m Medley Relay. He then went on to swim in the S.A Junior National Regionals. He improved his personal best time in every race he swam and managed to win three medals – Gold in the 4 x 100m Mixed Medley Relay, Silver in the 200m Freestyle and Bronze in the 50m Freestyle.
He qualified for the S.A Junior Nationals in both the 100m and 200m Freestyle. Ethan swims for Queensburgh Beavers and took part in his first Midmar Mile this year, placing 20th in the boys 13 years and under race with an excellent time of 25min, 24 sec. He also broke the record for every race he swam in the Intermediate Phase Gala held at school last term. Well done Ethan.
