Exciting news – Clarendon High School for Girls’ to set the standard regarding ICT. Clarendon High School is striving to provide not only the best education to our learners, but to also empower them with the skills to tackle this new world, this Digital Eco system, beyond their schooling careers. The disruption caused by Covid19 has expedited the rapid adoption and advancement of technology in almost every industry in the world.

With technology shaping the future of our world, we must prepare our educators and equip our learners with essential digital skills. Our school vision is to ensure that our learner’s educational journey is not only engaging through high school, but that the skills acquired serve as a foundational enabler to reach their life’s ambitions as well. Clarendon is one of the pilot schools to offer the Digital Technology curriculum to all Grade 8 and 9 learners, and this has lead Clarendon to explore new streams of innovative Education. The curriculum mostly revolves around the Microsoft application suite, Scratch, and Micro:Bit Robotics programming. Clarendon is very excited to announce it will be making the move from Google to Microsoft, namely to the Office365 platform, come 2023.

The majority of Tertiary institutes and businesses around the world make use of the Microsoft platform. Thus we will be exposing our learners to these platforms, so that each Clarendon Matriculant will be completely computer literate and able to deal with our ever-changing world. Moving in this direction will also allow Clarendon to create floating ICT laboratories, as well as on-and-off premises Hybrid teaching environments. These, in turn, will allow our learners to be skilled in the various software and hardware technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, through our subject offerings of Digital Technology, CAT & IT. The move to Office365 in a public school in 2023 will be the first-of-its-kind education transition in the country. Clarendon High School for Girls – the school taking the lead in a changing world.
