De La Salle Holy Cross College pupils were honoured to be a part of the commemoration activities for South African Police Services members who lost their lives while in service to the community and the country. On Friday 9 September, our Grade 7 pupils visited the Linden Police Station to deliver flowers to honour these fallen heroes.

On Sunday 11 September, our Grade 10 pupils attended the 2022 Commemoration Day at the Linden Police Station where they helped plant rose bushes in the Memorial Garden at the station. This was to symbolise the youth establishing roots and connection with the police station and to develop ongoing engagement through the youth desk and conscious youth programmes that the Linden Police Station will be proving in service to the community.

“As a police service we are excited to be partnering with our local schools to connect with the youth and making sure they are comfortable and connected to the police precinct. We will be initiating fun educational activities to create awareness and prevention of crime, promoting community connection, good citizenship and civic responsibility,” said, Colonel S Abdool, the Station Commander at Linden Police Station.
