Glenwood Ballroom Dancing

Glenwood boys have been participating in ballroom dancing for many years. Brian Tite and Cherry Wraith (Girls High School) won the Gold Cup at the South African Junior Dancing Championships in 1961, as well as the South African Junior Latin Championships. They were prominent again in 1962 in the Championships held in Grahamstown, even though they did not win, they were runners up for the Gold Cup as well as in the Junior Championships.
This year is no exception. Our boys participated in the annual Shall We Dance in the Durban Playhouse Opera from 9 – 11 September.
So it is with much celebration and joy that Shall We Dance celebrates its 28th year this year. The typically annual showcase extravaganza of Durban’s diverse dance scene was on stage for five performances.
Master of Ceremonies this year was Durban personality and Glenwood Drama Teacher, Marion Loudon.
