BOXING NEWS

As part of the Winelands team, Nina Buitendag participated in the SA Championship for WACO in Mosselbay on 13 May 2022.

She was placed 3rd in points fighting and 2nd in semi-contact fighting.

She will be traveling to Durban in June for the FCMA championships and in August she will participate in the African championship.

We hold thumbs that she will be part of the SA team that will travel to Italy for the World Junior Championships.

WRESTLING NEWS

Gemma Russell, a Grade 11 learner, got back from Morocco where she was for the last week representing South Africa at the United World Wrestling African Championships.

Gemma competed in 2 categories women under 17 freestyle (cadets) and women under a 20 freestyle (Junior) where she came 3rd in both categories and obtained 2 bronze medals.

TENNIS NEWS

Emma Pheiffer played in the Cape Town Mini Tennis Tournament. She took part in the woman’s division and won the tournament.

Gareth Igesund represented South Africa in the African Junior Tennis Championship in Zimbabwe. He won all his matches, and the South African teams won all the divisions.

FENCING NEWS

Ewan Kruger achieved the following results in fencing at the Free State Open. Ewan got gold in the U17 division and is now ranked number 1 U17 fencer in South Africa. He got bronze in the U20 division and is now ranked 3^rd in South Africa in this division.
