Over the weekend Kingswood College played St Andrew’s College in our annual 3rd term fixture. KC 1STXI lost the toss on a gloomy morning on Lower field. Our KC batters did extremely well to post a very competitive total of 233, thanks to some outstanding batting at the top by Jean-Luc Basson and Jaryd Botha while the Loon brothers enjoyed a valuable 35 run 10th wicket partnership. Our bowlers came out firing and soon had St Andrew’s in all kinds of trouble at 125/6 after 25 overs. Unfortunately that’s when the rain arrived and the match was stopped due to the inclement weather, with KC ahead on the DLS by 36 runs.

KC under 15a had a fantastic day out with Ross Thompson scoring yet another century(132), that’s the 4th century in 3weeks for the team. They managed to get a very impressive 287 in 45 overs. The bowlers put the St Andrew’s batters under pressure with Sithenkosi Qabaka picking up 6/37. KC had them 125/8 after 32 overs when the rain stopped play. KC were 120 runs ahead on the DLS when played stopped. The KC 2ndXI and U14a team struggled and found themselves under pressure throughout the day. Thanks to St Andrews College for a great days cricket.
