Crawford International Sandton College  are thrilled to announce that Luke Jones, a talented Grade 11 student, was selected to represent Central Gauteng at the Junior Interprovincial Action Cricket Tournament held from 3rd to 7th July 2024 at the Fourways Action Sports Arena.

Luke’s team, the U.16 Central Gauteng Cubs, achieved outstanding success at the tournament by clinching the Gold medal. The Cubs displayed remarkable skill and teamwork, winning 8 out of their 9 matches and delivering a commanding performance in the finals against their long-time rivals, the Southern Gauteng Scorpions.

This victory is a testament to the Cubs’ hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport. The Central Gauteng Action Cricket team and their coaches have made our province proud with their exceptional commitment and sportsmanship. Their achievement serves as a shining example of what can be accomplished through teamwork and perseverance.

We are particularly proud of Luke, who showcased his exceptional talent throughout the tournament. Luke scored an impressive 140 runs, ranking 6th overall, and claimed 17 wickets, earning him the 2nd ranked bowler for the event. His dedication and performance played a crucial role in the Cubs’ success.
