Christ Church Prep and College Grade 6 NS Starch Test

On Tuesday, 25 January, the Grade 6s learned about starch in food. Using an iodine solution, they tested which food items contained starch and which did not. If there was starch present, the iodine turned a blue-black colour. Plants go through photosynthesis, during which they produce glucose sugar. This is stored as starch in leaves, stems, roots and seeds of the plant. Well done Grade 6.
