Two Camps Bay High School learners, Mathew Pincente in Gr 9 and Holly Smith in Gr 10 recently participated in the Inter-Provincial SA Lifesaving Championships as members of the Western Cape Team. Both Mathew and Holly played vital roles in ensuring that Western Cape went home as the Championship winners. Mathew placed 1st with a GOLD Individual Malibu board. Mathew was also part of the teams that won GOLD for the Beach Team Relay and the Board Team Relay.

Holly, who is only 16, won the silver medal for the U19 Ski and also placed second overall, coming in before the senior ladies in the race. Holly was also a member of the teams that came FIRST in the Taplin Team, Surf Ski Relay Team and Board Relay Team events. In addition, Holly finished in 3rd place for the Rescue Event and in 4th place for the Board and Iron Events.
