Cambridge International A Level Results 2023. In 2019, the Diocesan School for Girls and St Andrew’s College introduced a Cambridge International A Levels Stream, giving our students the choice of a recognised and respected international alternative to the mainstream National Senior Certificate (NSC) written through the IEB. Successful completion of a Cambridge International A Level qualification provides pupils with access to the top universities throughout the world, including South Africa. Cambridge examinations are sat by students at schools in over 160 countries around the world.

Our fourth cohort of 13 DSG and St Andrew’s College students wrote their final A Level examinations in October and November of 2023, and we are delighted to be able to announce the 2023 Cambridge International A Level results. The pass rate of our students who wrote the 2023 A Level examinations was 100%, and 20% of our subject A Level results were over 80%. Furthermore, 69% of students achieved A to C symbols across all subjects, 20% of our symbols were over 80% in one or more A Level subjects. The average for A Level Chemistry was 95%. In English Language, 33% of our candidates achieved an A symbol; and in Physics and Economics 25% of our candidates achieved A symbols. We warmly congratulate the following Grade 12 pupils who achieved exceptional results in their Cambridge International A Level examinations:

• Max Coventry 1 A* symbol for Physics and 2 A symbols for Mathematics and Economics, with an average of 85%
• Estelle Minas: TOP ACHIEVER (DSG) 2 A symbols for English Language and Economics and 1 B symbol for Mathematics, with an average of 84%
• Oliver Snart 3 B symbols for Economics, Mathematics and Physics, with an average of 75%
• Janice Ruwodo 3 B symbols for English Literature, History and Biology, with an average of 70%

We are also very pleased with our 25 Grade 11 AS Level students, who achieved a 96% subject pass rate and 21% A symbols across their subjects. This bodes well for their A Levels in Grade 12 in 2024. Four of our cohort achieved stellar 3 A symbols each. Well done to Tristan Boulanger, who achieved an A* IGCSE French in June 2023. Please note that no A* grades are awarded at AS Level. Both English Literature and IGCSE had 100% distinctions. Moreover, 33% of our Physics and 38% of our Chemistry students achieved distinctions. We are exceptionally proud of the achievements of our A Levels class of 2023. The young men and women of this small, but determined, cohort have endeavoured to exceed expectations. They have grasped the opportunity to stretch themselves academically through the A Levels programme with great focus and determination. They have flourished academically and are now truly equipped to succeed in their choice of university anywhere in the world.
