Hillcrest High School Derby Day 27 May 2023. Saturday saw the annual Derby Day between Hillcrest High School and Kloof High School taking place at Hillcrest High. It was a special day, as the event had not been hosted at Hillcrest High School since 2018 because of Covid interruptions. It was wonderful to see all the sporting codes out on the Hillcrest fields once again for the event this year, with parents, staff and management from both schools expressing their enjoyment of the day.

A wonderful spirit of ebullience was evident from both schools and some tough battles were fought out on the courts and fields, with Hillcrest High School taking the win and winning all 1^st team games. 21 games were played, 15 wins went to Hillcrest High School, 5 wins went to Kloof High School and there was 1 draw.

Mr Patrick Windsor, Head of Sport at HHS said that “It was a fantastic day of sport and I would like to thank everyone who came through to support on the day.  It was great to see the community support the youth of tomorrow.  To all the Hillcrest High and Kloof High teams, well done for giving it your best on the day.  A special mention to the Hillcrest High family, well done to you all.  I look forward to Derby Day 2024 at Kloof High.”

I would like to congratulate Hillcrest High School on our amazing Derby Day on Saturday.  Every person in the school played a part in the success on the day and I am exceptionally proud to be the principal of such an awesome school.  A special congratulations to the Grade 8’s and the SLT.  We have never seen a more impressive Blazer War Cry – it was outstanding!  Our results of the matches speak for themselves!  Congratulations to all our sportsmen and sportswomen!
