The South African Schools’ Hockey Association (SASHOC) proudly announces the return of the highly anticipated SASHOC Nationals, set to run from 29 June to 13 July 2025. This year, the tournament will take place across two provinces: Johannesburg will host the U/13 and U/14 competitions, while KwaZulu-Natal will welcome the U/16 and U/18 divisions.

Thousands of South Africa’s top school players, coaches, and supporters will gather to celebrate excellence in youth sport, with the tournament continuing to serve as a springboard for future provincial and national talent.

Tournament Dates and Locations:

  • U/13: 29 June – 2 July (Johannesburg)
  • U/14: 4 – 7 July (Johannesburg)
  • U/18: 30 June – 5 July (KwaZulu-Natal)
  • U/16: 8 – 13 July (KwaZulu-Natal)

Johannesburg Venues: King Edward VII School (KES), Parktown Boys’ High School, Jeppe High School for Boys, and St John’s College.

KwaZulu-Natal Venues: Maritzburg College, Hilton College, St Anne’s Diocesan College, and Epworth School.

In addition to the teams taking to the field, umpires at the 2025 SASHOC Nationals will be kitted in OUTsurance-branded shirts, thanks to a valuable partnership between OUTsurance and the South African Hockey Association (SAHA). This initiative underscores OUTsurance’s continued investment in South African sport, particularly in promoting excellence, integrity, and visibility within officiating roles.

SASHOC is once again proud to partner with SuperSport Schools, ensuring that fans across the country can watch every thrilling moment via live streaming. The partnership supports SASHOC’s ongoing mission to increase access to school hockey and to tell stories of rising stars across all regions. Matches will be available on the SuperSport Schools App, with selected fixtures broadcast on SuperSport Channel 216.

SASHOC’s vision is made possible through the support of key sponsors who are committed to youth development and the growth of hockey in South Africa. This year welcomes the return of SPAR and TK Sport, and the addition of new partners WeBuyCars and Synsport.

Mpudi Maubane, National PR, Communications & Sponsorships Manager at SPAR, said:
“Our involvement with SASHOC speaks directly to our values of uplifting communities, especially through sport and education. Hockey develops discipline, teamwork, and leadership—qualities we believe are vital to the future of our country.”

WeBuyCars joins SASHOC as the exclusive Principal Partner, as they are looking to champion youth empowerment and community upliftment. “Supporting youth sport is at the heart of what we do,” said Rikus Blomerus, Chief Marketing Officer at WeBuyCars. “The SASHOC Nationals provide a platform for young athletes to shine and inspire their communities.”

Synsport is excited to join the SASHOC family as the Official Sports Facilities partner, as they continue their investment in sports infrastructure and athlete wellbeing, with National Sales & Marketing Manager Dylan Wagner noting, “We are proud to back SASHOC’s vision of growing hockey across all age groups and regions in the country and we are very excited for the road ahead.”

Rassie Pieterse, Managing Director at TK Sport, shared:
“We don’t just supply gear—we support ambition. TK Sport is proud to be part of a journey where young players can reach their full potential and build their future through hockey.”

SASHOC Chairman Wendell Domingo reflected on the continued growth of the tournament:
“In 2024, we saw nearly 2,000 players compete at Nationals and thousands more across regional events. That level of participation is a testament to how far school hockey has come. This year, we’re ready to take it even further—with more talent, more reach, and more opportunity.”

The 2025 SASHOC Nationals promise unmatched school hockey action, vibrant community engagement, and a celebration of youth excellence.
