Trinityhouse Glenvista Term 1 Highlights. Chess:Nishka Gakool in grade 5, standing with the Preparatory School Deputy Principal, Mr. Chris Tomsek. She competed in the Johannesburg Metro Chess Competition and finished in 3rd place.

Swimming:A huge congratulations to Mmelwa Mtshweni in Grade 2. She participated in her first Junior League Swimming Gala over the past weekend and received the following medals:

• Silver Medal for 100m freestyle
• Bronze Medal for Individual Medley
• Silver Medal for Butterfly

Soccer: Our Grade 2 Trinitonians participated in the Rovers Junior Soccer Tournament on Saturday, February 25th. Their U8 A-team won all their games and the boys walked away as the 1st place U8 winners of the tournament. Well done, boys!

Karate: Special mention to our Head Girl, Brogan Taylor, for attaining her Gauteng colours for 2023 at the annual Gauteng Karate Championships and trials on 17 February 2023. She will be going to the Karate South Africa National Championships to be held in Port Elizabeth this month.

Awards:Any Grade 7 student who meets the minimum criteria of two full-Colour scrolls in TWO of the three fields of school life (Academics, Sports, or Arts), may be considered for this award. Congratulations to Mikayla Hinkley, our first recipient of an Honore et Labore Honours Blazer. Mikayla received Full Colours in Academics and Full Colours in Sports to achieve this honour.

Our Grade 7 Trinitonian, Makhosazana “Zimi” Ndlela, is a professional model. She competes in various modeling competitions and has been awarded 2nd place in the National Model of the Year competition in November 2022 (9 to 12 division). As a result, she then qualified to go to Mozambique on the 20th of March 2023 to compete on the international stage with other models in her division from various areas, in and outside South Africa.
