On the 4th of October, five learners from The Wykeham Collegiate took part in the Model United Nations (MUN) conference held at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). The theme for the conference centered on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the Global Mandate to Protect Children.

Awongwa Maganya (Grade 10) and Mutsawashe Makondo (Grade 11) represented the International Criminal Court (ICC). Demonstrating excellent diplomacy and collaboration, they worked with fellow delegates to develop a compelling Hope Framework, which was awarded Best Resolution Paper of the conference. Awongwa Maganya was honoured as the Best Overall Speaker, a remarkable recognition of her eloquence and insight throughout the event.
