2025 has been a remarkable year for Stanford Lake College school, characterised by strong performance and meaningful achievements across a wide range of areas. The Class of 2025 has distinguished itself as a cohort of diverse talents, with each student contributing uniquely to the fabric of school life. They have embraced opportunities to grow, discover their strengths, and pursue excellence in their chosen fields.

On the academic front, this group has demonstrated notable tenacity and perseverance. They approached their studies with determination, resilience, and a willingness to rise to challenges, particularly as academic demands intensified. The pressures of the final year are significant, yet the Class of 2025 responded with maturity and focus, consistently striving to improve and achieve their best. Their commitment and work ethic have set a positive example for those who follow.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff who have worked tirelessly to equip our students with the skills required for success. These skills are cultivated over the full twelve years of schooling and extend far beyond the classroom, encompassing time spent on the sports field, in the outdoors, and on the stage. Each of these experiences plays a vital role in developing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for life beyond school. Each member of the staff built relationships with the students that extend not only into their academic skills, but the vital soft skills required in life.

The commitment, expertise, and professionalism of our staff have been central to the achievements of this cohort. I am confident that without their dedication and consistent support, these outcomes would not have been nearly as impressive. We are proud to once again announce a 100% pass rate (IEB average 98,31%), with an outstanding 98% Bachelor’s Degree rate (IEB average 89.12) —a truly remarkable achievement. Two of our students attained 6 distinctions. Alistair Van Hilten achieved distinctions in Mathematics, Further Studies Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Accounting, Life Orientation and Life Sciences. While, Jana Prinsloo, our Deputy Head Girl in 2025, attained distinctions for Accounting, Afrikaans FAL (placing in the Top 1% of the IEB), Business Studies, English HL, Information Technology and Life Orientation.

Isabella Dando placed in the Top 1% for Visual Arts and Gordon Noel achieved his place in the Top 1% for Mathematical Literacy.

Isabella Dando and Nicholas Boyum achieved 5 distinctions each. Abigail Fair, Lwandile Nkuna and Carla Schulenburg added a further 4 distinctions each. The group accumulated a total of 70 distinctions from 48 students.

We are also proud to share that departments such as Accounting, Business Studies, Computer Applications Technology, Geography, Information Technology, Life Sciences, Visual Arts and Mathematical Literacy all achieved results significantly above the IEB National Average.

It is important to recognise that success takes many forms, and for those pupils outside the top ten, the commitment and hard work they have shown should not go unnoticed. Their results reflect steady effort and growth and will serve as a solid foundation as they continue their studies and begin shaping their future paths.

As a community, we congratulate the Matric class of 2025 and wish them all the best as they embark on exciting new chapters of their lives.
