As part of our Mandela Day initiative, St Teresa’s Senior Primary School made beautiful hand-knitted scarves and beanies. At the end of Term 2 we were able hand over 60 beanies and scarves to Lizelle Denkema, Regional Development Co-ordinator: Gauteng South and Phindiwe Foba for the children at the CHOC home in Saxonwold. CHOC is a non-profit organisation made up of caring, committed and passionate people who stand up for and support the well-being of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life threatening blood disorders and their families. We hope that our beanies and scarves bring a sprinkle of joy and a lot of warmth to the children undergoing chemotherapy and pray for God’s healing hand on each of these children. We thank Lizelle and CHOC for the beautiful gold ribbons gifted to our Rosies to wear for the month of September – “a ribbon to you, hope for them.”
