We marked a significant milestone in the life of St Charles College as we gathered in the Chapel to celebrate 150 years of God’s enduring faithfulness. The commemorative service included a powerful message on blessing and inheritance from Mr Danny Genheimer, a moving testimony by Old Boy and Saints parent Mr Abrie Bouwer, and inspiring worship led by our Chamber Choir, joined by Old Boys Matthew Urquhart and Keketso Mokotjo.

Our Principal, Mr Allen van Blerk, warmly welcomed an overflowing Chapel of friends, staff, boys, Old Boys, former colleagues, the Board of Governors and representatives from schools and churches across the province. In his address, he reminded us that while the College has grown, the mission remains unchanged: to offer a Christ-centred education rooted in faith, character, and service.

It was only fitting to welcome Saints Old Boy, Brother Vincent, to the service as special tribute was paid to the Marist Brothers who guided the College from 1913 to 1978, as well as to the spiritual leaders and prayer partners who continue to support our boys today. Mr van Blerk also shared our gratitude for the pastoral team and the special group of faithful prayers who diligently pray every week for the College, for the staff and boys, for families and for God’s hand over us all. Knowing you are there makes all the difference in the world. We also thank our Chaplain, Mr Ducasse and team for the many months of planning ahead of today’s service and for the tremendous work you do, supporting the boys, staff and families of the College.As we honour our past, we look forward in faith – knowing that “unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain” PS 127:1. May we continue to walk boldly into the future, grounded in Christ’s truth, love, and grace.
