The Pearson High School tennis team continued their impressive run with a runner-up finish at the 16^th annual Selborne/Clarendon Mixed doubles festival in East London this weekend. Pearson started the tournament in impressive fashion on Friday with a comprehensive 12-0 victory over Framesby, followed by victories over St Andrews College/DSG (8-4) and the hosts Selborne College/Clarendon high school for girls (8-4).

The semi finals were played on Saturday with Pearson up against Grey High school/Collegiate school for girls. In a fixture that went down to the last mixed doubles match; Ian Janse van Rensburg and Gaby Myburgh clinched the fixture for Pearson and sent the team into the final with a 8-2 victory at the number 6 Mixed doubles position. The final score was 20-18 overall. In the final Pearson came up against a strong Kingswood team. After a high quality encounter Kingswood came out deserved winners 19-12 in the end. The following Pearson learners received accolades for being the best player in their position in the tournament:
