Northwood School had a successful final day at the HJS Cricket Festival. Our Knights played an exciting T20 against Potchefstroom Gimnasium, beating the latter with 35 runs. Captain Evan Fouche scored an unbeaten 57* from 42 balls. Connor Wilson (3/18) and James Nielsen (3/17) bowled their team to victory.
In Paarl, Northwood 15A’s played against hosts Boishaai, winning the toss and electing to bowl first. After a relatively good start from the host, Yashin Naidoo got the breakthrough for Northwood. The introduction of Thabsio Mtambo proved to be the nail in the coffin as he took 3/19, restricting Booshaai to 106/6. Northwood openers got their team off to a flyer scoring freely, with captain Thomas Oosthuizen leading from the front and scoring an unbeaten 63* (49), taking his team to a comfortable 7 wicket victory.
