Curro Holdings, the JSE-listed independent school group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Alta Theunissen as the Executive Head of Curro Roodeplaat. Theunissen is both a familiar and popular figure within the Curro organisation, and the wider Roodeplaat community, having held the position of Head of Curro Roodeplaat Primary School since 2015. During her successful tenure, she oversaw the primary school’s academic excellence, supervised extra-mural activities and sporting successes as well as general administration. Her extensive experience and her deep affinity for the Roodeplaat community makes her the ideal person to lead both the primary and high schools.

As a school, Curro Roodeplaat has recently undergone various strategic improvements and positive changes and we strongly believe she is the ideal candidate to now lead the school into a bright and exciting new era of opportunity and growth.” Theunissen enjoys a long and rewarding teaching career and has held several leadership positions within the Curro group before joining Curro Roodeplaat Primary School. This includes the post of head of department of the intermediate phase at Curro’s Northern Academy Primary from 1999 to 2011, and the operational head of Curro Northern Academy in 2012.
