• 2-4 April:  U14 Rob Taylor Hockey Festival at Selborne. Results: Boys: Merrifield vs Pearson 0-2 loss; vs Woodbridge 0-8 loss; vs Grey B 0-2 loss; vs Selborne 0-2 loss; and vs Grey A 0-7 loss. Girls: Merrifield vs DSG 0-3 loss; vs Woodridge 0-3 loss; vs Collegiate 0-1 loss; vs KHS 0-0 draw; and vs Kingswood 0-4 loss.
• 8 April: College Hockey Derby vs Dale at Dale: Merrifield U14A boys 0-4 loss; U16A boys 0-2 loss; and 1st boys 3-0 win.
• 9 April: College Hockey Derby vs Selborne at Merrifield: Merrifield U14A boys 0-10 loss; U16A boys 0-5 loss; 2nd boys 0-2 loss; 1st boys 3-3 draw.
• 9 April: College Hockey Derby vs Clarendon at Clarendon: Merrifield U14A girls v U14B 4-0 win; U16A girls v u14A 0-2 loss; and 1st girls v u16A 3-2 win.

Tennis

• 4 April: Merrifield College tennis results: Senior Boys A vs Selborne A 3-3. U15 Girls vs Clarendon U15A lost 8-0.

Swimming

• 6-11 April: Bryce Burét competed at SA Senior Nationals and Commonwealth Games trials in Gqeberha. He competed in the open category and finished top in his age group. His results as follows for open category: 50 free (24.48) 27^th; 100 free (53.71) 36^th; 50 fly (26.50) 39^th; 100 fly (1:00.77) 61^st; and 200 free (2:04.18) 39^th. A fantastic experience competing with teams from around the world, with up to 30 heats per race at times. Well done Bryce!

Surfing

• 27 March: Congratulations to Merrifield surfers who took part in the Eastern Cape Grom Games that was held at Nahoon Beach on 27 March. Alexis Beau came 2nd in the U16 boys category and Mahle Ntsebeza claimed 2nd place in the U12 girls category.  Surfers from Buffalo City and Nelson Mandela Bay participated, with the Buffalo City team placing 1st.
• 9-10 April: David Emslie finished a close second in a seesaw battle for first in the Rip Curl Grom Search at Victoria Bay. The event was the 2nd Prime event on the 2022 Surfing South Africa SAST (South African surf tour) and David is now lying 2nd in the U.16 South African ratings and is the highest U.15 boy.
