Meet the 2023 Dundee High School leaders. Our leaders of 2023 were announced at the Academic Prize Giving and we would like to

Hoofseun – Hanro van Zyl

Hanro van Zyl was recently announced as the head boy of 2023.  He was born and bred in Dundee where his leadership skills were prominent from a young age.

Head Girl – Zandisiwe Maphalala

Zandisiwe is a proud Christian who makes God the centre of all the things she does.  She loves interacting with people and putting herself in situations that will push her out of her comfort zone.  This young lady is also very ambitious.  She thrives during challenges especially if working under pressure.  From as young as 14 years old, Zandisiwe competed in the Science Expo with her project that took her all the way to the finals where she was representing South Africa.  She subsequently brought home a silver medal.  In 2020, she was awarded Best Sport Field Woman and has represented Endumeni District in athletics in the past 4 years. She is also very active in Speech and Drama and has been in the Top 10 Academic Achiever’s List every term since Gr8.  Zandisiwe is also the current President of the Rotary Interact Club. It is clear to see that Zandisiwe has been an integral member of the DHS family and will continue to thrive in her position as Head Girl of 2023.

Deputy Head Boy – Dalisu Mbatha

Dalisu is a very sociable person who gets along with many people.  He was elected RCL of his class, played second team rugby and represented the school in the First Chess team where he was also chosen as vice-captain.  Dalisu’s biggest achievement thus far is that he participated in the SALA public speaking competition, where he managed to get 5th place in the National Finals.  He works hard to achieve what he sets his mind to.

Onderhoofmeisie – Inneke Labuschagne

We are proud of our 2023 group of leaders and we look forward to what these young leaders will accomplish in the near future.

2023 DHS leaders : Dalisu Mbatha (Deputy Head Boy), Hanro van Zyl (Hoofseun) Zandisiwe Maphalala (Head Girl) en Inneke Labuschagne (Onderhoofmeisie)
