Kearsney College crowned the Top School in KZN in the South African Mathematics Olympiad for an incredible sixth year in a row! They are incredibly proud of the achievements of our boys and their teachers. At the prestigious awards ceremony in Johannesburg on 25 October, Kearsney was crowned the Top School in KZN for the sixth consecutive year, and placed third overall in South Africa – a remarkable accomplishment. Congratulations to all our boys and their dedicated teachers on these outstanding results!
In the picture: Head of Department Mr Rakubu Sokana and Maths teacher Mrs Sue Hotz, are Thomas Schulze and Mukona Marageni (ranked 3rd best student in KZN in the senior section), both of whom were placed among the Top 100 candidates nationally and wrote the challenging third-round paper. (Shavanth Chelladu, also ranked in the Top 100 nationally, was absent from the photo.) Also pictured is Matthew Behrens, who was the top senior student in the KZN Siyanqoba team during the Interprovincial South African Mathematics Team Competition.
