Hillcrest High School Grade 12 Class of 2023 gathered at the school on 19 January 2024 to receive their National Senior Certificate (NSC) results. A total of 185 candidates wrote the NSC examinations last year, with 134 achieving a Bachelor’s pass, 37 achieving a Diploma pass and eight achieving a Higher Certificate pass. Learners achieved a cumulative 226 distinctions with top achiever, Joshua Blom achieving 8 As.
“We are, once again, proud of our matric achievements in the National Senior Certificate examinations,” says Hillcrest High School Acting Principal Mrs Knight. “Overall, we achieved 226 As across the grade, with one learner achieving 8 As (eight), five learners achieving 7 As. A further two learners achieved 6 As and six learners achieved 5As. Well done, Class of 2023!”
Joshua Blom, who achieved 8 As, said, “I am very pleased with my results. I put in the effort, doing history as an additional subject, keeping up with homework and taking time to rest and relax with friends and family. I am glad to see it paid off!” Joshua plans to study Computer Science at UKZN this year.
