Hillcrest High School Congratulates Class of 2024 Grade 12 learners on their NSC results

Hillcrest High School educators welcomed back the Grade 12 Class of 2024 as they arrived to collect their National Senior Certificate (NSC) results. A total of 217 candidates wrote the NSC examinations at the school last year, with 156 achieving a Bachelor’s pass, 42 achieving a Diploma pass and 12 achieving Higher Certificate passes. Learners achieved a cumulative 195 distinctions with top achiever, Annika Adendorff achieving 8 A’s.“Well done to our Grade 12 Class of 2024. Despite the numerous challenges you faced during your high school careers – from COVID-19, riots, floods, loadshedding, and water outages, you have made it through. We hope that you are all proud of the results you have achieved in the National Senior Certificate examinations,” said Mrs Denise Knight, Principal of Hillcrest High School. “The Class of 2024 achieved 195 A’s across the grade, with one learner achieving 8 A’s and two learners achieving 7 A’s. A further four learners achieved 5As and six achieved 4 A’s.”

Annika Adendorff Top Achiever 8A’s
Top achiever for 2024, Annika Adendorff, who achieved As for Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Accounting, English, Afrikaans First Additional Language and Life Orientation, also achieved an A for the additional subject she took, German Second Additional Language. She said she had no secret to share for how she achieved such excellent results. “I listened during class, and I did my homework. That made it easier when it was time to learn for exams or tests,” she says. Adendorff plans to study Chemistry and Physics at Potchefstroom University.

Kiarra Chetty 7A’s
Two learners achieved 7 A’s – Kiarra Chetty achieved As for Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Life Sciences, English, Afrikaans First Additional Language, History and Life Orientation. She plans to study Medicine this year. Abigail King, who also achieved 7A’s, excelled in Life Sciences, History, Tourism, Visual Arts, English, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Mathematical Literacy and Life Orientation.
