Junior School Prize Giving 2022. Our learners were rewarded for their academics, sport and cultural achievements during the year. We are very proud of them!
In recognition of dedication and talent. Congratulations to everyone, awarded or not, for a fantastic year of challenges faced with great determination and commitment. Bravo! It has been an incredible week of celebration at Graeme College. We started off with the G4-9 Prize Giving on Wednesday morning this week. It was simply sensational to be part of, and events like these always leave you feeling so proud to be part of a phenomenal school like Graeme College. Thank you to all the parents who supported us, as well as the various speakers during the events. Kits McConnachie spoke brilliantly, as he delivered a speech on behalf of the Junior School learners,
and Mr Swift also spoke so passionately about where we are as a school, specifically the Junior School.
He mentioned a message in a previous Junior School assembly where he challenged the learners to make Graeme College the best boys’ school in South Africa and then spoke about how we get there… he suggested you start with four goals to start that process:
1) Arrive on time, every day.
2) Do your very best, every day
3) Be kind to everyone you meet.
4) Have a #SpiritOfExcellence.
It has been an incredible year in the Junior School and everybody can feel so proud of where Graeme College finds itself with regards to culture and passion.

Music
“Music is the literature of the heart; it commences where speech ends.” ― Alphonse de Lamartine. Our marimba A team had one of their last performances at the grade 4-9 prize giving this morning. It is always sad to lose such an amazing band but we know that they will lay a strong foundation for our steelband next year. This year’s A team has not received a performance mark lower than 70% all year and has kept the school entertained after the long break with Covid.
