Fairmont High School talented Grade 12 Visual Art students had the exciting opportunity to immerse themselves in South Africa’s rich artistic heritage during their visit to the prestigious Iziko South African National Gallery (SANG). Nestled in the heart of Cape Town’s Company’s Garden, this iconic museum offered our learners a powerful visual feast of contemporary and historical art from across the continent and beyond. The visit formed a valuable part of their visual art curriculum, allowing students to engage firsthand with the diverse styles, techniques, and themes explored by celebrated artists. From thought-provoking mixed-media installations to timeless works rooted in traditional methods, the gallery offered a dynamic and deeply reflective experience.
