Congratulations to the Dundee High Matric Class of 2021.  Once again, you have done your school and the district proud with a pass rate of 96.8%.

Five Dundee High School learners obtained an average of over 80%. Our Dux learner, Chirag Singh, had an average of 88.4%.  She also had eight distinctions for the following subjects:

  • ENGHL
  • AFRFA
  • LIFE
  • MATH
  • BSTD
  • INFT
  • LFSC
  • PHSC

Well done Chirag!

Amahle Nkosi (Dux runner-up) had an average of 87.3% and had seven distinctions for the following subjects:

  • ENGHL
  • ZULFA
  • LIFE
  • MATH
  • ACCN
  • LFSC
  • PHSC

Eric Lauwrens with an average of 87.0% proudly claims third position at DHS, academically, ALSO with seven distinctions in the following subjects:

  • ENGHL
  • AFRFA
  • LIFE
  • MATH
  • BSTD
  • LFSC
  • PHSC

He was followed by Zakiya Khan who had six distinctions in the following subjects:

  • ENGHL
  • AFRFA
  • LIFE
  • MATH
  • VSLA
  • PHSC

In fifth place was Hamzah Amod (84.3%) with 5 distinctions in the following subjects:

  • MATH
  • LIFE
  • BSTD
  • LFSC
  • PHSC

Other learners that did very well were Keano Milne with 5 distinctions, Asanda Mdletshe, Zakithi Mdlalose, Siphesihle Maphalala, and Miguelle Benadie who all had four distinctions. Congratulations, Dundee High School is proud of you.

Over and above the five learners with A averages, a further 16 learners obtained an average above 70%.  In total, 66.2% of the 2021 Dundee High matric class qualified for admission to university by obtaining a bachelor’s pass (Matric Exemption).

Of the 888 exams that were written, the class of 2021 obtained 136 subject distinctions.  This means that 15.3% of all marks obtained were above 80%.

Of the 21 subjects offered at Dundee High, 13 had a 100% pass rate and 11 had subject averages above 60%.  Subjects with five or more distinctions were: ZULFA (41), LIFE (24), BSTD (20), AFRFA (9), ENGHL (8), VSLA (6), PHSC (5), MATH (5), LFSC (5) and MLIT (5).

Results such as these once again confirm our school’s motto – “Strenius Ardua Cedunt” – hard work is rewarded.  These results could only be achieved through hard work, not only by the learners but also by the dedicated educators of DHS and of course with the support of parents.  Thank you and congratulations to each learner, each parent, each educator and most of all thanks to our Heavenly Father who once again held His protective hand over our school and blessed many of our learners with good results.

Dux Learner, Chirag Singh, obtained 8 A symbols on her NCS certificate with an overall average of over 88%.
