INTER-SCHOOLS COMMUNITY OUTREACH: A DAY OF UNITY AND SERVICE

On a bright and inspiring day, learners from De La Salle Holy Cross College, Roedean School, Kingsmead College, and St David’s came together for an unforgettable Inter Schools Community Outreach event. The day was filled with a shared sense of purpose, compassion, and generosity as 320 learners worked side by side to serve those in need. The event’s success was a testament to the power of collaboration, and on behalf of our team, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated. Your unwavering support and dedication made a tangible difference, and it was truly heartwarming to witness the impact of our collective efforts.

Quote for the day: “The good we share is the legacy we leave behind.”

Thanks to the generosity of all involved, we were able to distribute donations to several organizations that provide essential support to vulnerable communities.

The following groups received contributions from our outreach:

  • St Vincent De Paul – 800 loaves of bread
  • Sisters of Mother Teresa (Yeoville) – 300 loaves
  • Holy Trinity Catholic Church Soup Kitchen – 300 loaves
  • Linden Police Station – 200 loaves
  • Acovid – 200 loaves
  • Gogo’s Soup Kitchen, Soweto – 100 loaves
  • Mama Dee’s Day Care, Windsor East – 50 loaves
  • Growing Champions – 50 loaves

These donations will go a long way in supporting individuals and families facing hardship. Your contributions have truly touched many lives, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity and willingness to serve.

The success of this initiative would not have been possible without the dedication of those who helped organize and facilitate the day.

A special thank you goes to Mrs. Galanakis, Mrs. Berndsen, Brother Brian, Mrs. Poluta, Mrs. Jadrijevic, Mr. Duarte, St Vincent De Paul Society, and Polite Zhoya. Your efforts and leadership made a meaningful impact on this event, and we are incredibly appreciative of your support.

De La Salle Holy Cross College Motto: “Be First that you may be of service.” Looking ahead, we are excited to continue this spirit of collaboration and service. Our next Inter Schools meeting is scheduled for the first week of May, with further details to be shared soon. Additionally, please mark your calendars for the Kingsmead College Inter School event on the 17th of May—more information will follow in due course.

Thank you once again to everyone who played a role in making this event such a tremendous success. Together, we are making a difference.
