Curro Grantleigh School Consumers Studies Class impresses with culinary skills

The Matric learners of Grantleigh School recently put their culinary knowledge to the test in the Consumer kitchen, preparing a sophisticated dish that showcased their developing kitchen skills. The recipe consisted of a Chicken Roulade filled with bacon and spinach, paired with perfectly prepared Duchess Potatoes and fresh broccoli.
Under the guidance of Miss Joni Maree, the students demonstrated impressive techniques, including shaping and deep frying the chicken, crafting delicate French-style potatoes, and expertly blanching and refreshing the broccoli.
These tasks not only challenged their culinary abilities but also highlighted their creativity and attention to detail.
The students’ dedication and hard work were evident in the final presentation, making this a truly memorable class. The future of the culinary world is certainly looking bright with such promising young talent.
