The Senior Primary held their very own elections. Each learner lined up, was given a ballot, got marked with “special ink” and voted on the Grade 7s that they would like for monitors. Voting was supervised by internal and external “officials” and ballots were placed in special voting boxes.

2022 Junior Leaders

Middle L-R: Atmika Lachman, Domenick Curnow, Zothando Bekwa, Muhammed Paraze and Seosha Moodley.
Back L-R: Athule Mbili, Hlalumi Pepu and Aluma Nozwane

Junior Heads and Deputies with Head of Phase, Mrs van Heerden and Executive Head, Mr. Coetzee.

Grade 4

The Grade 4s revised data handling. They counted how many Smarties there are in a 40g box to work out the average. Then they sorted the Smarties by colour and made a tally table to show their data. This activity was too tempting, and learners couldn’t resist popping a Smartie or two in their mouths every now and then!

Sport:

The under 13A hockey boys played against Margate Primary on Tuesday, 24 June at Creston College.  They won their game 3-0.  The boys ended the hockey season on high note.  Our under 13 boys had a fun Eagles versus Falcons match on Wednesday, 25 June where Falcon House won 3-0.   The SP coaches would like to thank the players for all their hard work and dedication to their practices this term. Our winter sports have received mixed results this season.  Our under 13 boys and girls have done particularly well.  Players overall skills have improved, and this has improved their knowledge and structure for each sport discipline, which has been lost over the last two years.  We look forward to the continued development of our players in sport.  The following under 12 learners;  Lilly Currie,  Zaiah Dennis, Mihlali Hlomza and Luzuko Pangwa, as well and Sichumile Mgoduka for under 13, have been chosen to represent KZN for hockey.  This year is the biggest representation our school have had in KZN hockey.

During exams remember when you do any type of intense physical activity, it causes blood to flow to the brain. This in turn fires up your neurons and promotes cell growth. This means that just 20 minutes of exercise before studying can improve your concentration and help you focus your learning.  “Healthy in body, healthy in mind!” – Mrs Horlock
