During the holidays Ben Viljoen High School have several learners who form part of the provincial hockey teams that participate in tournaments all over the country. Three of our staff members are also involved in these tournaments.

Congratulations to:

Carlia Potgieter & Amo Motlatle have been included in the Limpopo u/14A team. Amo was also named the vice captain of the team.

Kamogelo Mashishi, Francia Meiring, Mabarwe Tabudi & Suné Lessing have been included in the U14B team. The U14A team participates at the Winter Games in Benoni while the U14B team participates at the Regional Tournament in Krugersdorp. Naledi Ratsaka & Keothabetse Hlabela have been included in the U16A team.

Chanelle Smith

Banele Motau & Ellené van der Westhuyzen have been included in the U16 as non-traveling reserves. Neo Mathunyane has been included in the U18A team while Chanelle Smith has been included in the U18B team. The U16A team and U18A team both takes part at the IPT (Inter-Provincial Tournament) which takes place in Stellenbosch while the U16B team participates in the Regional Tournament which takes place in Nelspruit. The U18B team participates in the Regional Tournament that takes place at Hoërskool Merensky.

Lethabo Malebana, Golokile Tshigo, Neo Mathunyane & Gino de Agrela

Sbusiso Mahlangu & Thato Nchabeleng have been included as non-traveling reserves in the U14 Limpopo team. Golokile Tshigo & Lethabo Malebana were included in the U18A team while Gino de Agrela was included in the U18B team. Kopano Makweng and Thabang Magoro have been included as non-traveling reserves in the U 18 Limpopo team. The U18A boys hockey team also participates in the IPT tournament which takes place in Stellenbosch while the U18B boys hockey team participates in the regional tournament which takes place at Jeppes High School for Boys in Johannesburg.

Ms Alicia Giles has been appointed as the coach of the U14B team and will umpire the U18B tournament, while Ms Daniel Houy has been appointed as the coach of the U14A team. Ms Houy will be umpiring at the IPT tournament and was also appointed as the umpire manager for the U18B tournament. Mr Yanieve Janse van Rensburg has been appointed as the U16A boys hockey coach.
