Swellendam High School learner Juhan du Toit, a grade 10 learner, competed in the Regional Museum speech competition held at the Caledon Hotel/Spa/Casino on Friday, the 23rd of August. He was one of 15 contestants who qualified to compete for a position to represent the Overberg at the upcoming National competition. The overall theme was Museums for education and learning and his topic was: “Are museums facing any challenges in this modern era?” Although he didn’t place, Juhan was one of the learners who stood out with regards to skill and we are sure his experience will serve him well next year, when he takes on this challenge again. We are so proud of our well-rounded Swellies, like Juhan, for always looking for opportunities to challenge themselves and represent their school and region. Mila Engelbrecht
