1st XI Cricket vs Graeme College (Lower field, declaration match). St Andrew’s College was involved in a tight tussle on Saturday vs Graeme College on Lower field. Graeme bowled superbly as a unit and the College batsmen found scoring tough. Pace bowlers, Marcus Williams (3/24) and Ethan Bokbaard kept it tight up front, while Murray Tyson (3/65) kept the pressure on with his leg spinners. College battled to 157/9 before Laurie Apps played superbly for his 69 not out, astutely managing the strike and fluently steering College to safety on 205 all out. Graeme College batted positively in search of the runs, but their loss of wickets kept College on top in the afternoon. Graeme closed out the drawn match on 122/7. Well done to both teams for their courageous efforts on a very warm day in Makhanda.
