“We are so proud of our Wembley choristers who were selected to join the KZN Youth Choir for 2023.  Eleven choristers from Wembley College have been accepted into the KZN Midlands Youth Choir.  The audition process is a strict and nerve-racking process, even for seasoned choristers. Musical pieces need to be learnt for the various stages of auditions that are held before the singer is accepted as a fully-fledged member of the Youth Choir.

It is an amazing opportunity to become a KZN choristers. You  are given the opportunity to perform on a national and international platform, representing your country at the highest level of competition and even sometimes performing for royalty. These are some of the experiences that our Wembley College choristers are going to be exposed to when singing with the KZN Midlands Youth Choir. All of this doesn’t happen without having to give up a lot of time! After initial auditions, an audition camp is held at the beginning of each December holiday. On this camp all choristers are put through vigorous vocal training as well as the fundamentals of aural and theoretical concepts which are all part of becoming a top chorister.” William Silk, Head of the KZN Midlands Youth Choir.
