This past weekend, St Dominic’s Catholic Church was filled with the joyful sounds of worship and celebration as Catholic Schools Week Sunday Masses brought together the community of St Dominic’s, CBC and the Parish. The special Masses marked the beginning of Catholic Schools Week, a time to recognize and celebrate the vital role that Catholic education plays in shaping the minds and hearts of future generations. This year’s celebrations hold special significance, as they coincide with the Jubilee Year of Hope, proclaimed by Pope Francis. The theme of hope was woven throughout the Masses, as the congregation prayed for God’s blessings, strength, and guidance to fill their lives. The collaborative effort between St Dominic’s, CBC and the Parish was a testament to the power of faith and community. As one attendee noted, “It was wonderful to see so many people from different parts of our community come together to celebrate our shared faith.” As Catholic Schools Week continues, the St Dominic’s community is called to be “Pilgrims on a journey of Faith and Hope.” May they be a beacon of hope for all those they meet, spreading joy, kindness, and compassion throughout the year and beyond.
