Grade 3 learners at Grantleigh Schools Embark on an Epic Global Adventure Through Their Projects

Grade 3 learners at Grantleigh Schools Embark on an Epic Global Adventure Through Their Projects:  This week, Grade 3 students at Grantleigh Schools embarked on an extraordinary learning journey that spanned the globe. Each student chose a country to research and present their findings, and the results were nothing short of spectacular! The young explorers visited a wide variety of countries, experiencing different cultures, foods, and traditions through their engaging projects.The adventure began in Japan, where students discovered that Christmas is celebrated with a surprising twist – many Japanese families enjoy KFC for their holiday meals. From there, the class flew to the USA, where the students indulged in classic American burgers, before heading to France to admire the stunning castles and art galleries, perfectly timed with the spirit of Valentine’s Day.

Next, the Grade 3 adventurers travelled to India, where they sampled crispy samosas and continued their journey to Norway to witness the awe-inspiring northern lights. Their Viking-themed project even included a fun Viking showdown, bringing the ancient history to life. The whirlwind tour continued in China, where students learned about adorable pandas and tasted legendary almond biscuits. Mexico welcomed the young travellers with delicious chocolate treats, while Germany served up hearty pretzels, much to the delight of the class.In Egypt, students marvelled at the grandeur of the pyramids before heading to the United Kingdom for a quintessential afternoon tea. Portugal offered insights into the world of football, with a nod to star Cristiano Ronaldo, and Italy treated the class to the best pizza imaginable – a food experience that’s sure to remain a favourite!

The journey didn’t stop there, as the students explored the tropical beauty of Sri Lanka and the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia. They were captivated by the towering dunes of Namibia and sampled biltong, a local delicacy. South Korea added an unexpected twist with the revelation that Santa Claus may wear a blue suit this year. Singapore proved to be a fascinating stop, where students learned about the country’s gum ban, followed by a visit to Madagascar to meet the iconic lemurs. In Spain, they experienced the famous tomato festival, before wrapping up their European leg with a scenic visit to Ireland and Scotland, where Highland cows captured their hearts. As the adventure continued, the students found themselves in Canada, where they sampled the famous maple syrup, before heading to Mauritius for some beachside relaxation and a glimpse of the elusive Dodo bird. Thailand served up mouth-watering noodles and the chance to learn about majestic elephants, while Mozambique’s beautiful beaches offered the perfect backdrop to their travels. The final stop was Colombia, where students enjoyed delicious empanadas and encountered fascinating wildlife. This global journey, packed with fun facts, cultural insights, and culinary delights, has left the Grade 3 students with a wealth of new knowledge and unforgettable memories. As the project wraps up, the students are eager to share their experiences and continue their journey of discovery. Where should the next adventure take them? The Grade 3 class is already dreaming of new destinations!
