Every year, on 18 July, South Africans celebrate former President Nelson Mandela’s birthday by dedicating 67 minutes to helping those in need. A powerful donation drive, aimed to empower the community and foster a giving culture.“One of our core values at SPARK Schools is ‘Service’ and we encourage our SPARK scholars to be active citizens in their classrooms, communities and country. They dedicate time and effort to serving those in need and approach challenges with a team mindset,’’ said Nkazimulo Zitha Head of School Achievement at SPARK Schools.

This year, from 18 July – 18 August 2023, SPARK scholars will be spreading kindness and generosity throughout their community by filling 100 boxes with basic food, clothing, and educational or sanitary items for community members in need. “Whether it’s through our school or someone you know. We invite businesses, organisations and individuals from our school communities to help us achieve this goal,” added Zitha. Donation boxes will be placed at every SPARK School and each school will select their charity of choice as well as the donation type to suit it. “Education is vital to uplifting communities from poverty. We at SPARK Schools believe that our #100Boxes initiative will go some way in making a positive change” concludes Zitha.Join us in spreading love and kindness the SPARK School way!
