Another Million for Rand Park

Rand Park High School celebrated the fundraising successes of its Debutantes and Squires at a glittering event held at Mount Usambara. Principal, Mr Alan Wilke acknowledged the Grade 11 learners and their parents who signed up for the fundraising programme which ran from March 2021 to February 2022. Collectively, the learners succeeded in raising R1 001 000 for the school.

The learners and their parents raised funds in their individual capacity as well as in their Debs and Squires groups which allowed them to work together on specific projects.

Fundraising took place through various events such as golf days, Barnyard fundraisers, Food Fiestas held at the school, shadow servings at John Dory’s in Cresta, sourcing advertising for the school and funding obtained through corporate and individual supporters.

It is tradition to recognise the top fundraisers each year and to applaud their efforts.  The top five squires and top five debutantes ranked as follows:

In addition to recognising the individual fundraising efforts of the learners, the school acknowledged the money raised by the small groups of learners during the year. Each group works on school-based fundraising events which helps to build teamwork, creativity, friendship and cooperation.  The Top Group raised R61 978.00 and consisted of Michaela Adolphe, Kiara Bika, Christopher Davies, Jade Erler and Steven Robinson.

Funds raised by the Debutantes and Squires are spent on improving school facilities to benefit the current and future learners who attend Rand Park High School.

It was an evening that was dedicated to celebrating the young men and women and their parents who have spent much time and effort on raising money during their fundraising year.

Top 3 Debutantes – Rachel Du Plessis (3rd), Michaela Adolphe (1st) and Kirsty Goodall (2nd)

Top 3 Squires – Christopher Davies (2nd), Steven Robinson (1st) and Ethan Lesser (3rd)
