Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School shine at the First Home Rugby Festival

Much to the delight of the supporters, Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School’s inaugural home mini rugby
festival on Saturday, 25 April 2026 proved to be a great success, showcasing determination and skill. The GHS
players delivered standout performances across both U.16 and U.18 divisions, demonstrating grit, teamwork,
and resilience.
● U.18 GHS vs Kokstad: GHS opened their campaign with a hard-fought 15–10 victory, edging past
Kokstad in a tense encounter.
● U.16 GHS vs Canaan: Despite a spirited effort, GHS fell 17–10 to Canaan in a competitive clash.
● U.18 GHS vs Estcourt: GHS closed the festival in emphatic fashion, overpowering Estcourt 29–5 with a
commanding display of attacking rugby.
● Congratulations to our own Shy-Hannah Nichols who was awarded Senior Woman Player of the
Festival.
