Merrifield Prep and College Sport Results:
Waterpolo:
Congratulations to the Merrifield First Team Waterpolo boys for coming in second place with a silver at the National Co-Ed Tournament held in Durban this past weekend. They made it to the final and lost against St Peter’s College. A special congratulations to Pablo Battiss who was named Best Goalie of the Tournament, Corbin de Villiers for Best Forward of the Tournament and Anthony van Harmelen who made the tournament side. Out of the 13 players in the Tournament, Merrifield has 3 and took home 2 out of the top 3 awards.
Congratulations to the Merrifield U15 boys Waterpolo team, who were placed 3rd overall at the Sterrenberg Waterpolo Tournament at Selborne College. A special mention must be made of Blake Brown and Adam Brown, who were both selected for the tournament team!

Surfing:
Congratulations to the Merrifield surfers who took part at the SA Surfing Championships held in Jefferey’s Bay this past weekend. Daniel Emslie (team Captain) and Adriel Wolmarans were crowned SA U18 Surfing Champions and David Emslie made it to the U16 finals being the highest placed U15 boy at the championships.

Merrifield would like to congratulate one of our college Afrikaans teachers, Antonet Louw for making the SA Women’s Hockey Emerging squad.

Congratulations to Emma Fray who out of more than a hundred girls in her age group managed to get a silver medal for vault and place 7th overall at her first-ever SA Gym Games. What an incredible achievement!
