On Saturday, 14th May 2022, Marist Brothers Linmeyer hosted their annual U13 Soccer and Netball festival. This was the first festival since 2019 and it was great to see the local schools competing again in a competitive environment after Covid. The competing schools were Marist Brothers Linmeyer, Waterstone College, Trinity House, Glenanda Primary, Winchester Ridge Primary School and Our Lady of Lebanon.

This event turned out to be a perfect winter’s day; the schools competed in two pools, followed by semi-finals and finals. We had a superb performance from Marist Brothers Linmeyer soccer and netball players, they both reached the finals. In the netball section, we were able to defeat Trinity House in the finals, 20-12.

In the soccer section, we had another brilliant match between Marist Brothers Linmeyer and Waterstone College, they tied 3-3 after extra-time and the match had to be decided by a dreaded penalty shootout which  Marist Brothers Linmeyer won. Congratulations to all staff and coaches who were involved with the teams on the day.
